Parklife opens its doors for business
Herne Bay’s children and young people have been flocking to Parklife, the town’s new youth centre, since it opened a few weeks ago.
Parklife is home to the Poppy Children’s Centre, for children aged up to five, and the Sparks Youth Centre for 13-to-19-year- olds, making it the first centre of its kind in the county to offer services for residents from birth to their early 20s.
Canterbury City Council and Kent County Council are behind the project, with the city council awarding the county council a 50-year low-rent lease on the site.

Important changes to bus pass scheme
People aged over 60 or eligible disabled who have a free bus pass as part of the concessionary travel scheme are being advised of three changes to the scheme.
